My father, Walt Jones, has been in the golf business in the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware area since 1957 when I was only one year old. He has owned several driving ranges, built and owned Old Landing Golf Course, and currently owns Midway Par 3 just off of Rt 1 near Lewes, DE. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 1978 with an engineering degree and after working for an engineering firm in Philadelphia for exactly 3 years, I had to get back to the beach as I had sand in my shoes and I could not get it out. I designed the Ad-Boat Co. which advertised with boats up and down the shoreline during the summer season. I started that business in 1982 and owned it until 1991, just 21 days before I opened my par 3 golf course in Dover , Delaware on July 21, 1991. I still own the Dover Par 3. In May of 2002, I opened the Cape May Par 3 golf course in Rio Grande, NJ and currently operate that golf course. My father always believed in making a golf course fun, very playable, and affordable so that anyone wishing to learn to golf or play golf would have the opportunity to do so. The Cape May Par 3 is the best entertainment value in all of Cape May County My favorite charity is Make A Wish and in May of 2004, I originated Make A Wish weekend in Cape May County, a golf fundraiser at the par 3 and also a celebrity bartender night with live and silent auctions the night before the golf outing. In the course of 6 events now, we have raised over $420,000 for the Make A Wish kids in Cape May County. The 2010 event will take place on May 6th and 7th. I hope you will support it.
